VA BBQ Restaurants

Scoot’s BBQ, Gloucester Point, VA

August 16, 2015

We took a nice little Jeep ride today over to Gloucester Point, VA to check out a new BBQ restaurant that my wife found on the web. It was a really nice ride and an even better find.

Scoots BBQ Gloucester Point VA 2Let me start with walking through the door. We were greeted by friendly employees as soon as we entered. They told us we could check out the menu on a huge chalkboard or a printed one on the counter. After studying for a while we made our choices. Mine was pretty much a no brainer.

I went for the BBQ Combo which was Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, and Sliced Brisket. It also came with slaw and corn muffins. I added a side of fried okra to mine. My wife ordered the same meal but with onion rings instead of okra. Once we placed our order we picked out a table and our food was brought to us when it was ready. This didn’t take long at all. This may be a good place to add how clean the dining room was. I watched one young lady clean the tables, not just wipe them, as customers left. She did a wonderful job keeping everything very clean.

Scoots BBQ Gloucester Point VA 3The chicken and brisket both came with sauce on them. The pulled pork came without. There were different sauces on the table that you can choose from. All three meat choices were great just like they came. I normally don’t choose chicken but that was the only combo choice so I went with it. Even the chicken was impressive.

As for the pulled pork I ate most of it without sauce. The flavor was just that good. I did save some at the end just to try out the sauces. Their NC Sauce was my favorite. I also tried the sweet & hot sauce. It was good but just not what I was looking for. I don’t care for a lot of sweet on my Q. So my suggestion would be the pork without sauce or a little NC sauce. Both ways are really good.

The sides were really good also. I enjoyed my fried okra and a few of my wife’s onion rings as well. The onion rings were killer. Sliced thin and fried perfectly. I’ll have a hard choice next visit.

Finally we decided to punish ourselves with some dessert, not like we needed it. We split a Double Chocolate Torte. Oh have mercy. That was worth the drive and the toll bridge just for it. Save room though because it is big enough to share.

That kinda wraps this one. Overall: Awesome. Great service and food.

I recommend Scoot’s to anyone that may be near Gloucester Point, VA. I believe you’ll be glad you did.

I had occasion to be in Gloucester back in June and we ate at Scoot’s one night for supper. Absolutely some of the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten!

Thanks for checking out my blog. Glad you liked the BBQ. We thought it was really good too. Be sure to check back for more posts. I’m just getting started and have a lot more to get on here. I’m still learning the set up so it may change appearance from time to time.
