Q Daddy’s BBQ Update

Q Daddy's BBQ

I had to add a Q Daddy’s BBQ Update to the blog. If you haven’t stopped by there you really should pay them a visit. They are located in Smithfield, VA.

Q Daddy’s BBQ Updates:

I talked to Jesse, the pitmaster, a little while back and he said he would be bringing ribs to the menu soon. Well I noticed their Facebook Page a couple of days ago and saw they were now serving ribs. There is a catch. The ribs are available Monday thru Friday starting at 5:00 PM until sold out. I believe the menu said you could get them all day on Saturday. You may want to call to check on that one. None the less, this evening we made the ride to Smithfield to check out the ribs.

How It Went:

Rack of Ribs (minus two)

First we placed our order. I believe it was Josh that took our order this time. He was great, a very friendly and pleasant young man who really seems to enjoy working there. Well, since I ordered the ribs he called out Abby, the ribologist. Yes, that’s a new word but that’s the title Josh gave to Abby. She was to prepare my ribs.

You see, the ribs at Q Daddy’s BBQ are smoked but not finished off until ordered. Once you place an order for the ribs they are placed on a grill and sauced to complete them. And they were wonderful. Great job Abby! You can only order a full rack of ribs, no half racks. Other than the initial cost I didn’t have a problem with that. I took half of them home for another meal. I guess another option would be to share a rack if you don’t want leftovers. So I look at it as the price I paid was not bad for two meals.

More Q Daddy’s BBQ Updates:

Here’s a little more information since writing the original post.

Tonight we tried Q Daddy’s BBQ homemade molasses cookie. I never tried one thinking that I wouldn’t care much for it. Oh what a mistake that was. This cookie was killer. Tammy and I split one. My surprise started when I realized how moist the cookie is. I expected a somewhat dry one. Wrong again. If you’ve ever tried the molasses cookies in Colonial Williamsburg, these are very similar.

Something else new to the menu is the addition of “Boats”. You can now order a larger portion of your meat choice than was offered before. This is a wonderful improvement. I believe the menu said the boats are ½ pound.

Last Bit:

We had a great visit tonight. Josh and Abby were fantastic. You guys have some wonderful young people over there in Smithfield. Abby was a pleasure to meet and talk to, and I love the boots by the way.

I always encourage you to share this review on Facebook and other social media sites.
