Merry Christmas 2015

December 24, 2015

I would like to take a little time to wish everyone Merry Christmas and thank everyone that comes to this site. I’d also like to reflect a little on it.

Since starting my blog in July we’ve had many people view it from all around the world. That’s pretty awesome considering I thought I’d have some family and a few friends check it out. We now have just over 7000 views. That’s incredible. For me to think that my site has been viewed that many times in such a short period just blows my mind. I am grateful to all who pass through.

Have no doubts about it, this is a BBQ Blog. Though I am running a little behind due to the Christmas season I will get back on track soon. Hopefully in the next couple of days.

Just kidding. No White Christmas here.

However at this time I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share a little about Christmas and how I feel about the meaning. Our world today has distorted Christmas so much that we seldom ever stop to recall why we celebrate it to start with. And though I do admire Santa Clause, gotta stay on the nice list, he’s not the reason we have Christmas. We have this season to celebrate the birth of Jesus over 2000 years ago.

I’m not setting out to offend anyone. I know many people have different beliefs. Even though I disagree with many of today’s concepts, I do respect other people and their opinions. My hope is that someday people will have a better understanding of the Christmas Story according to the Bible. I especially worry about my country which seems to be turning further and further away from what our founding fathers believed.

I have also been blessed with wonderful family and friends. This is a great time of the year to rekindle relationships and get closer to our families. I love the way that social media has enabled us to stay in touch with our long distance family. I love that I can turn on my computer or even use my phone and in an instant see pictures of my nieces and nephews sharing their lives.

So how about this Christmas call someone you haven’t talked to for a while. You never know when you’ll lose them or they may even lose you. I

Old Fashioned Merry Christmas.

wish that on no one. I’m grateful for Facebook and that I was able to get back in contact with one of the best friends I ever had. Unfortunately he passed away before we could reunite. Some 1500 miles between us just made it not work out.

But Christmas should be about happy memories. Take some time to reflect. Remember that some people get very depressed at this time of the year. Be kind and show respect to others.

I do wish everyone who reads this to come back for my next bbq review. I look forward to continuing into next year and especially hope for more interaction from readers like you. Each and every one of you is a welcomed guest and I invite you to leave comments and to come back often. I’m looking into ways to expand the blog next year and see what else we can do to attract more readers. Other ideas will be in addition to the reviews.

This has been a wonderful experience for my wife and I. We’ve met a lot of people and talked to many restaurant owners since starting this blog. I’m grateful for Tammy’s patience with me running this site. She’s been awesome.

Take a look around my site and please come back.

And to all, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope that your Christmas season is filled with joy and that the New Year will bring you many blessings. Slow down a little and enjoy some time with loved ones and reflect on the good things that happened this past year.

Lastly…Don’t forget to enjoy some tasty bbq. Christmas dinner maybe? That’s what I’m talking about.
